We’ve just completed the second of our three volunteering days at Rowans Hospice, and it’s already been an incredibly rewarding experience. With one more day to go, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far and the impact this time has had on us as a team.
Rowans Hospice is set within 6.5 acres of beautiful gardens, and over the past two days, we’ve been focused on helping to tidy and maintain these outdoor spaces. From clearing pathways and cutting back overgrowth to general garden upkeep, we’ve rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into whatever needed doing.
Spending time here has really highlighted how important these gardens are. They’re not just outdoor areas, they’re peaceful spaces where patients, families, and staff can find a moment of calm. Being able to contribute, even in a small way, to maintaining that environment has felt genuinely meaningful.
It’s also been a great opportunity for us to step away from our usual routines and work together in a completely different setting. Being outside, working side by side, has brought a new kind of energy to the team. We’ve shared plenty of laughs, and it’s strengthened our sense of teamwork in a way that’s hard to replicate in the office.
For us, this experience is a reminder of how important it is to give back to the community. Supporting Rowans Hospice has been a privilege, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in caring for such a special place. One more day to go, and we’re ready to finish strong.
