Last Friday, Team Tekta swapped office chairs for hiking boots as 12 courageous members took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon in support of Rowans Hospice. Battling steep inclines, changing weather conditions, and the demands of one of Wales’ most iconic mountains, the team successfully completed the 1,085m ascent via the famous Miners’ Trail in an impressive time of just 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The challenge was organised to raise awareness and vital funds for Rowans Hospice, a charity that provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across the local community. So far, the team has raised more than £1,500 for the hospice, with donations continuing to come in following the event.
Setting off early in the morning, the team tackled the Miners’ Trail, a route known for its stunning scenery, glacial lakes, and challenging final ascent. While the early stages offered relatively gentle terrain, the climb quickly became more demanding as the group approached the summit. Despite the physical challenge, team morale remained high, with plenty of encouragement, teamwork, and sweet breaks along the way.
Reaching the summit at 1,085m was a proud moment for everyone involved. With breath taking views across Snowdonia National Park waiting at the top, the weather was certainly on the team’s side.
Speaking after the climb, members of the team described the experience as rewarding, challenging, and unforgettable. Completing the route in under three hours was an achievement everyone was proud of, particularly knowing it was all in aid of such an important charity.
Tekta would like to thank everyone who donated, supported, and encouraged the team throughout the challenge. Every contribution helps Rowans Hospice continue providing vital care and support to patients and families when they need it most, and surpassing the £1,500 fundraising milestone is a testament to the generosity of everyone involved.
Congratulations to the entire Tekta team on an incredible achievement, 1,085 metres climbed, countless memories made, and an important cause supported every step of the way.
