Introducing Our UK-Made Rapidor Freeze: A High-Speed Freezer Door Built for Performance

At Tekta, we’ve spent more than 25 years specialising in high-performance doorway solutions for controlled environments. As a family-run, service-led business, we’ve always believed that every doorway matters, whether we’re supporting architects and contractors on specialist projects or providing long-term reliability through our comprehensive service packages.

Our product range already includes everything from internal and external rapid-roll doors to fire-rated hinged steel doors, optimised sliding doors, and loading bay equipment such as dock levellers and shelters. Today, I’m proud to share that we’ve expanded this offering with our newest UK-made innovation: the Rapidor Freeze high-speed freezer door.

Why We Developed the Rapidor Freeze

Many of our customers operate in environments where maintaining tight control between positive and negative temperatures is absolutely critical. With that in mind, we designed the Rapidor Freeze to deliver outstanding insulation, reliability and speed, especially in high-traffic settings.

At the heart of its performance is a dual-curtain PVC design, housed within a single frame. Between the two curtains sits a central air-locking system, which creates an insulated zone that effectively separates drastic temperature differences. This means the door can maintain conditions of –30°C inside the chiller and comfortably handle temperature variations of up to 50°C between inside and outside areas.

To support consistency and protect against frost or condensation, we’ve integrated a self-regulating heat fan, frame heat tracing, and a built-in thermostat to ensure precise temperature monitoring.

Speed and Reliability You Can Depend On

We know that freezer areas can be fast-paced, so the Rapidor Freeze is built to keep up. It opens at speeds of 1 metre in just 1.5 seconds, helping to optimise workflow while minimising exposure to temperature fluctuations. The door is also self-repairing, reducing downtime and maintenance costs, something many of our clients value highly. For added safety and operational efficiency, we’ve included two pairs of light curtains on each side of the door.

All of these features come together to deliver a door that improves energy efficiency, reduces repair costs, and maintains a consistently high performance even in demanding environments. And because it’s built here in the UK, we can offer shorter lead times and dependable parts availability.

Ready When You Are

The Rapidor Freeze is now available to order, and we’re excited to help more customers enhance their controlled-environment operations with this high-performance solution.
