Tekta Takes on the Rowans Hospice Corporate Quiz Night

Recently, six members of the Tekta team swapped doors and spreadsheets for trivia questions and answer sheets as we attended the Rowans Hospice Corporate Quiz Night at the Village Hotel Portsmouth. The evening brought together local businesses, supporters and friends of the hospice for a night of fun, friendly competition and, most importantly, fundraising for a truly important cause.

Representing Tekta were six brave volunteers who proudly formed Team Unhinged. While the name might have hinted at a slightly unconventional approach to quiz strategy, it certainly reflected the energy and enthusiasm the team brought to the evening.

The event was packed with lively quiz rounds that tested everything from general knowledge and pop culture to music and obscure trivia. Tables across the room were buzzing with discussion, debate and the occasional confident, and sometimes wildly inaccurate, answers. Team Unhinged gave it their all, putting their collective knowledge together and enjoying every minute of the challenge.

Alongside the quiz itself, the evening also featured a raffle, giving attendees the chance to win a variety of prizes while raising even more money for Rowans Hospice. The atmosphere throughout the room was brilliant, with a real sense of community as businesses came together to support the incredible work the hospice does.

By the end of the evening, the event had raised an incredible £4,800 for Rowans Hospice. Funds raised through events like this help the hospice continue to provide specialist care and support to patients and families across the local community. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to support such an important cause.

As for Team Unhinged’s quiz performance… well, while we may not have taken home the top prize, we did leave with something memorable, the wooden spoon award.

Most importantly, the evening was about far more than winning. It was about supporting our charity partner, meeting other local organisations doing the same, and enjoying a great night out with colleagues.

Events like the Rowans Hospice Corporate Quiz Night are a brilliant reminder that fundraising doesn’t always have to be serious, sometimes the best way to support a good cause is to gather a team, have a laugh and take part.

From everyone at Tekta, a huge thank you to Rowans Hospice for organising such a fantastic evening. Even if Team Unhinged didn’t quite crack the quiz, we were proud to be part of a night that raised such an incredible amount for such an important cause.
