Tekta’s Q1 Charity Initiatives: A Strong Start to the Year

At Tekta, giving back is about more than raising funds, it’s about coming together to make a real difference. Q1 has kicked off the year excellently.

We began February with an ambitious collective challenge; walking the distance from Land’s End to John o’ Groats. Spanning nearly 900 miles, this iconic route became a shared goal across the business. Colleagues have contributed in all sorts of ways, from lunchtime walks and gym sessions to weekend hikes and dog walks. Every step counts, encouraging healthier habits and sparking friendly competition as we tracked our virtual progress north. It’s been a brilliant brilliant example of how small individual efforts can add up to something big.

Another Q1 highlight has been our staff bake-off, held on the last Friday of each month. From classic favourites to impressive showstoppers, Tekta colleagues put their baking skills to the test, with teammates donating to sample the creations. The bake-offs have quickly become a firm favourite, bringing people together while raising funds, and morale, at the same time.

Our charity efforts officially launched at our team kick-off event, where we shared our fundraising goals for the year and the causes we’re supporting. This was a key moment to align everyone behind a shared purpose and highlight the positive impact our collective efforts can have.

We rounded off the quarter with a corporate quiz night, where teams went head-to-head across trivia, music, and general knowledge rounds. The evening was full of laughter, healthy competition, and plenty of team spirit, all while raising further funds for charity.

While Q1 set a strong foundation, we’re already looking ahead. In Q2, we have plans for a volunteering week, another physical challenge with a walk up Snowdon, and more bake sales to keep the momentum going.

We’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and generosity shown so far and excited to continue making a difference together throughout the year.
