Project Brief
Hovione required a comprehensive specialist door package to support the development of its pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, with Tekta delivering the works across three carefully coordinated phases. Valued at £655,039, the project required a range of high-performance door systems capable of meeting the stringent operational, hygiene and safety requirements associated with pharmaceutical production. With multiple critical areas across the facility, each solution needed to provide dependable performance while integrating seamlessly with the wider building and production environment.
Maintaining strict environmental control was a key consideration throughout the project. The specified door systems needed to support controlled conditions between different production and processing areas, helping to maintain hygiene standards and minimise the risk of unwanted environmental transfer. Certified fire protection was also an important element of the package, with specialist fire-rated solutions required at key locations to support the facility’s wider fire safety strategy. The combination of performance requirements demanded a carefully considered approach to specification, installation and coordination.
Tekta was selected to provide a complete solution, managing the specialist door package across all three phases while working closely with the wider project team to maintain progress against the construction programme. By combining technical expertise with carefully selected high-performance door systems, Tekta delivered a robust and reliable solution designed to support operational efficiency, regulatory requirements and long-term performance. The completed package provides Hovione with specialist access solutions suited to the demanding conditions of a modern pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
“Both Hovione and the project team have been particularly impressed with the quality of workmanship, the efficiency of installation, and the professional and cooperative approach demonstrated by the Tekta team on site.”
Our Solution
Across three carefully coordinated project phases, Tekta supplied and installed a comprehensive specialist door package comprising 16 Rapidor Pharma high-speed doors, 32 Sanidor Pass hygienic personnel doors, seven Sanidor Inox stainless steel doors and three Pyrodor Flex fire curtains. Each system was selected to meet the demanding hygiene, environmental and operational requirements of Hovione’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, providing a fully integrated solution across critical production and controlled areas.
The Rapidor Pharma high-speed doors provide rapid, controlled access between key areas, helping maintain environmental separation while supporting the efficient movement of personnel and materials throughout the facility. The Sanidor Pass hygienic personnel doors complement these systems by providing durable, easy-to-maintain access suited to clean and controlled environments. In areas requiring enhanced resistance and hygiene performance, Sanidor Inox stainless steel doors deliver a robust solution capable of withstanding demanding cleaning regimes while supporting the stringent standards associated with pharmaceutical production.
Together, the specialist door systems help maintain cleanroom integrity, support effective temperature control and minimise contamination risks between different production zones. Completing the package, the Pyrodor Flex fire curtains provide certified fire compartmentation at key locations, contributing to the facility’s wider fire protection strategy without compromising operational requirements. By coordinating these specialist systems across all three phases, Tekta delivered a secure, hygienic and high-performance door package tailored to Hovione’s requirements, supporting regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and reliable long-term performance within a demanding pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
