Industrial Door Solutions for Thameside

Project Brief

Tekta was appointed to supply and install a comprehensive industrial door package as part of Kanadevia Inova’s new-build development at Thameside. With a contract value of approximately £639,000, the project required a coordinated combination of industrial shutters, fire-rated systems and steel personnel doors to meet the facility’s operational, security and fire safety requirements.

Working within a complex, multi-disciplinary construction programme, Tekta was responsible for delivering 72 specialist door systems across the development. The package comprised 12 Rollashield Isoroll insulated roller shutters, two Pyrodor Fireroll fire shutters and 58 Traffidor Pass steel personnel doors, providing a complete access solution across a wide range of internal and external openings.

With the facility designed for demanding day-to-day operations, durability and long-term reliability were key considerations when selecting the door systems. Each product needed to perform a specific role while integrating effectively with the wider building design, from maintaining thermal separation and securing operational openings to providing compliant fire compartmentation and dependable personnel access.

The scale and variety of the package required careful coordination throughout the project, ensuring that each door type was installed in accordance with the wider construction programme and the requirements of surrounding structures, services and specialist trades.

Tekta supplied and installed 12 Rollashield Isoroll insulated roller shutters to provide secure, thermally efficient access across key operational openings. Combining robust construction with insulated performance, the shutters help reduce heat transfer between areas while providing a durable physical barrier when closed. This made them well suited to locations where security, environmental separation and regular operational access were equally important.

To support the facility’s passive fire protection strategy, Tekta also installed two Pyrodor Fireroll fire shutters. Positioned at designated fire-rated openings, the shutters provide certified fire compartmentation, helping to restrict the spread of fire and protect critical areas of the building. Their integration formed an important part of the wider fire safety strategy while allowing the openings to remain functional during normal operation.

Completing the package, 58 Traffidor Pass steel personnel doors were supplied and installed throughout the facility. Designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, the doors provide robust and secure personnel access while offering the durability required to withstand frequent day-to-day use. Different locations across the development could therefore be served by a consistent, dependable access solution.

Together, the three product types created a coordinated door package balancing thermal performance, fire protection, security and everyday accessibility. Careful planning and communication with the wider project team enabled Tekta to coordinate the numerous openings and interfaces across the new-build programme, supporting an efficient installation process.

The completed package demonstrates Tekta’s capability to manage large-scale, high-value industrial door projects incorporating multiple specialist systems. From insulated industrial shutters and fire protection products through to steel personnel doors, Tekta delivered an integrated solution designed to provide Kanadevia Inova’s Thameside facility with reliable, compliant and durable performance over the long term.
