Industrial Doors for Telehouse

The Brief

Telehouse appointed Tekta to supply and install the complete personnel door package for its new administration building, part of a significant £34 million development designed to enhance the operational infrastructure supporting the data centre. Working closely with main contractor Flynn and architects ARC:MC, Tekta delivered a high-quality solution focused on security, durability and long-term performance.

Valued at approximately £173,000, Tekta’s specialist package comprised 73 single-leaf Traffidor Pass personnel doors and 10 double-leaf Traffidor Pass doors installed throughout the building. The robust steel door systems were selected to provide dependable, secure access across a range of operational spaces while meeting the demands of a busy, security-conscious data centre environment.

The new administration building brings together several key operational functions within a modern, purpose-built environment. These include security control rooms, a centralised control area and a dedicated Service Desk, creating an efficient hub from which teams can support customers and manage the day-to-day operation of the data centre.

Given the critical nature of these spaces, the personnel door package needed to provide consistent performance while integrating seamlessly with the architectural design and wider security requirements. The combination of single- and double-leaf Traffidor Pass doors provided flexibility across different openings and access points while maintaining a cohesive solution throughout.

Close coordination with Flynn, ARC:MC and the wider project team ensured the door package aligned with the construction programme and surrounding works. The completed installation provides Telehouse with a robust, secure and reliable personnel door solution tailored to the long-term operational demands of its new administration building.

By working alongside Flynn and ARC:MC, Tekta ensured that the door systems integrated effectively with the surrounding building fabric, architectural requirements and security provisions while maintaining progress against the agreed construction schedule.

In total, Tekta successfully supplied and installed all 83 Traffidor Pass personnel doors within the required programme. The completed package provides Telehouse with a durable, secure and reliable access solution designed to support the building’s day-to-day operations for years to come.
